You land at Milas-Bodrum Airport on Friday evening, board at Milta Bodrum Marina on Saturday morning and anchor at Orak Island for the night in the clearest water in the region. Sunday takes you round the peninsula to Gümüşlük for a sunset dinner before disembarking on Monday morning.
Bodrum is the one yacht destination on this coast that works for a weekend, because everything is close. The airport is about 45 minutes from the marinas, Orak Island is 40 minutes from town, and Karaada, Türkbükü and Gümüşlük are all within an hour of each other. A 20–25 m motor yacht with cabins or a 4-cabin Bodrum gulet gives a couple or a small group two nights at anchor with a crew who cook, and you are back at the marina in time for a Monday flight.

Two days is enough for the peninsula but not for the Gulf of Gökova, so a Bodrum weekend stays close: Orak Island, Karaada, the north coast and Gümüşlük. Mornings are calm for the open-water swims and the meltem builds in the afternoon, which is when the captain moves to a sheltered anchorage for the night. Weekends in July and August are the busiest of the year at the marinas; June and September weekends have the same sea and more yachts free. Milas-Bodrum Airport is about 45 minutes from Milta Bodrum Marina and Yalıkavak Marina.
