Mornings are calm, so the captain heads for the open-water stops such as Orak Island first; the meltem builds after lunch, and the afternoon is spent in the lee of the peninsula or at a sheltered anchorage like Gümüşlük. The season runs from May to October, with July and August the busiest weeks at the marinas and June and September offering the same sea with more yachts to choose from. Milas-Bodrum Airport is about 45 minutes from all three marinas, so a day charter fits even a short stay.
