The Aegean off Bodrum is calm at dawn and the meltem builds through the afternoon, so fishing charters leave at first light and are back or anchored in shelter by early afternoon. The west coast off Turgutreis and the water around Karaada are close to the marinas, which keeps the run short and the fishing time long. June and September offer settled mornings and quiet water; July and August are busier at the anchorages but the dawn hours are still empty. Milas-Bodrum Airport is around 45 minutes from D-Marin Turgutreis.
