The day-trip season in Bodrum runs from May to October. Summer mornings are calm and the meltem arrives in the afternoon, so open-water stops such as Orak Island come first and the afternoon is spent in the lee of the peninsula at Karaada. July and August are peak, when day yachts from Milta Bodrum Marina need booking a week or more ahead; June and September have the same sea temperature and more availability. If you are staying on the north or west coast, Yalıkavak Marina or D-Marin Turgutreis are closer departure points.
